Dysplastic gangliocytoma of the cerebellum is characterized by a slowly progressive unilateral tumor in the posterior fossa which leads to a corresponding mass effect. We report a rare case of dysplastic cerebellar gangliocytoma. A 16- yearold female presented with occipital headaches, blurred vision, and ataxic gait of 6-month duration. Brain magnetic resonance images(MRI) demonstrated a space-occupying mass of the left cerebellar hemisphere. On magnetic resonance spectroscopy(MRS), the mass was not hyperactive and neuronal loss was not observed in the lesion. A suboccipital craniotomy with subtotal removal of the tumor was performed. The histopathologic findings were consistent with a dysplastic gangliocytoma. The postoperative course was uneventful.
